Grey Dreams Painting

Twilight world of twilight dreams
Time sleeping falls away,
Wakes to find a new life has begun
To make its history
Of blood and music, paints and words.
It mirrors its heritage
In strokes of bold colour
And distorts the image
To suit its humour.
Bold men fight for truth,
Weak men pay for lies.
The twilight world ignores
These ants upon his back.
These pigmies on a giant's world
Are like dust upon the stars.
He knows they'll come again
Until he grows too old.
So the twilight world
Has twilight dreams and
Time sleeping falls away.

We might learn from history
